Health Update

On June 16 Ryan had minor in office surgery to remove an ingrown toenail. Since it was infected at the time of the first surgery he had to go back yesterday to do the part where they burn the nail so it doesn't come back. In that two week span the doctor went to a conference where they recommended doing both sides of the nail to prevent the nail from overcompensating when only one side gets cut out. So Ryan got a two for one deal on the burning. It took the full two weeks to heal from the first surgery and they told him it will take much longer to heal this go round. In the meantime he gets to wear sandals to work.

I had my 32 week midwife appointment today. I'm coming down the home stretch, as evidenced by the fact they made me schedule all my remaining appointments. Baby is growing well. I'm measuring at 31 cm, which is just slightly behind the average. Each pregnancy is so different. My nausea hasn't been as bad this time around, and the baby is actually kicking hard enough Ryan has felt him a few times. Finally, to answer the most commonly asked question at this point - No, we do not have a name picked out yet. Not even anything on the short list. Sorry to disappoint. For now we just call him Little Buddy's Buddy or Little BB for short. (For those who don't know, Ryan's nickname is Buddy and Caden is Little Buddy)
