Hurrier the Snowman
So named by Caden, who also insisted Hurrier have a hat, scarf, carrot nose, and buttons. I'm the one who added the eyes and mouth, to which Caden replied, "Does he look happy, or sad, or surprised, or confused?" Caden was a very good foreman, "There is enough snow there, Eric, put more over here." For his part, Eric dutifully packed and patted right where Caden directed. Kyle was just along for the ride in the Snugli as I attempted to roll and lift the snowballs while not being able to see over his bundled up head.

Horsey Ride
Caden likes to try to give Eric horsey rides. They don't usually make it very far before Eric falls off, but you've got to give the boys points for trying.

Feeling Edified
We read scriptures each night as a family right before the older two boys go to bed. Even though its only 4 verses, the boys have an extremely hard time sitting still. Tonight the five of us were piled on the love seat in the family room. Caden was kicking his feet and bouncing up and down; Eric was doing his best impression of a tornado on my lap; Kyle was moaning at the top of his lungs in Ryan's lap. After the first two verses Caden and Eric started poking each other and laughing loudly. Ryan looked at me and said, "I'm feeling edified, how about you?" :P

Snow Day
Two weeks ago a miraculous thing happened - snow fell in our neck of the woods. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but this year its looking like that was our one and only snowstorm for the winter. We'd had flurries most of the day, but late in the afternoon the snow started to stick, and the boys got excited. Even though it was late I didn't have the heart to put them to bed without letting them play in it; I wasn't confident it would still be there the next morning. So we spent 45 minutes tracking down the snow clothes and bundling up. We lasted about 15 minutes outside (it was a really wet, really cold snow), then had family night in front of the fire place while we all thawed out. You can tell Eric is a snow-rookie. He tried riding first his bike, then his scooter in it.
