Boat Launch Day 1, Saturday, July 11: Lots of hanging out on the shore, throwing rocks and sand while daddy and grandpa made adjustments to the engine. Final result - engine plugs were missing from when the engine was in the machine shop, boat taking on too much water to launch.

Boat Launch Day 2, Monday, July 13: Lots of hanging out on the shore, throwing rocks and sand while daddy and grandpa tried to figure out why the purring engine wouldn't turn off, even after the keys were removed and the battery was disconnected. Final result - a $0.50 diode would fix the shut off problem, and oil build up in the engine compartment turned out to be a loose drain plug in the oil pan. Ryan had to pull the engine out to fix the oil problem.

Boat Launch Day 3, Saturday, July 18: Success at last! Everyone was so excited that once the boat came off the trailer no one remembered to get any pictures of it running. There are still a few quirks to work out (like why the boat spins in circles if you shut it off, or why once you accelerate you can't decelerate without shutting the engine off), but the engine sounds pretty.

Ahhh, the joys of owning a boat. Your days of 'throwing rocks & dirt in the water while daddy fixes the boat' have just begun!
