Prayers end with "Amen." Caden is really good at folding his arms at the beginning of prayer and we've been working with him on keeping them folded until he hears "amen." Today Caden made it through the entire prayer for the bread, heard the Priest say amen, and then the congregation say amen. He was so excited it was time to unfold his arms that he threw them in the air and proclaimed at the top of his lungs "AMEN!" Too bad it was about 3 seconds late and the room was completely silent. We elicited a few chuckles from those sitting around us.
Mommy is a boring book reader. Daddy's been doing the nap and bedtime reading for Caden quite a bit lately. Today in sacrament meeting Caden requested his book, so mommy opened to the first page and started to read. After the first page Caden gave me a funny look, grabbed the book, and moved to daddy's lap. Even the 10 year old boy on the row in front of us was fascinated by Ryan's rendition of "Book of Mormon Numbers," complete with 8 Jaredite 'almonds' (ships) crossing the sea.
Proof that kids really do learn something in nursery. Our nursery music leader is great. She has a big bag of props that she hands out to the kids while they sing certain songs. Today as she was distributing the small temple pictures attached to popsicle sticks Caden jumped out of his chair, grabbed his prop, and showing it to the girl sitting next to him, explained with a big grin on his face 'temple!' He then proceeded to whack her repeatedly with his little prop while we sang I Love to See the Temple. Obviously he still has a few things to learn.

Too funny! I love that he was hitting the little girl with his temple picture! This struck me as the perfect follow-up to Brooke's most recent post. It's a must read; http://brookie-wookie.blogspot.com/2009/07/can-i-go-to-bed-yet.html
