We put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving. Eric and Caden decorated while Kyle napped. Eric put all his ornaments on the same two branches, so he could see them better. Caden did a decent job spreading his out. Then Kyle woke up and frantically undecorated anything within reach. So this is how our tree looks now.
The presents were put under the tree on December 1. They are all of our Christmas books (20 this year!) Each night I let the kids select a book and unwrap it as their bedtime story. They love it. I love that it helps cut down on the constant requests for presents.

I love the book idea. I'll have to get working on collecting some this year.
