Happy Mother's Day

I know this post is a day late, but we had a busy day yesterday.

This was my first year as an official mother and Ryan really made me feel special and appreciated. Caden's tendency to grab, yank, and shake anything within reach has cut down significantly on my jewelry wearing (not that I wore that much to begin with) and I was really starting to miss it. So Ryan bought me some new 14k white gold cz stud earrings and a beautiful sterling silver short necklace to match. Caden (wink, wink) gave me a brown necklace for everyday wear. Ryan brought Caden in to the room holding the box and Caden was grinning from ear to ear. It was so cute!

Experiencing Mother's Day as a mother has given me a whole new perspective. It made me really appreciate how much my own mother has done for me. I think of the changes and sacrifices I've made in just the 7 short months we've had Caden and I realize its just a glimpse of what motherhood holds for me. In the back of my mind I've always known that my mother made (and continues to make) sacrifices for us, but I don't think I truly appreciated how completely her life has been centered on her children until I had the opportunity to experience it myself.
