About Caden's memory.
The kid is sharp. I tell him we are going to the zoo to see animals, and he asks if Caleb is going. I ask why he thinks Caleb would be there, and he responds that last time we went to see animals Caleb came with us. That was 6 months ago! Stuff like that happens all the time. He's always pulling out memories or tidbits from as long ago as 18 months.
Yet every time we leave the neighborhood and drive by the Liberty Tax guy spinning his arrow I get the same laundry list of questions. Why is that guy standing there? (To try to get us to come into his store) Why is he dressed like that? (So we can see him better) Can we go into his store? (We don't need to) Do they have stuff in his store for Cadens and Erics? (No, just papers for Mommies and Daddies). I will be so glad when tax season is over!

I don't think there is anything wrong with his memory. You just have not given him the answer he is looking for. The man spinning that sign makes that store look pretty inviting to a little boy:)
