My sister Kellie found herself working on an American Cancer Society Relay for Life team the last 5 months. For those who don't know, Relay for Life is a fundraiser where the main event places the team walking laps on a track for 24 hours. This year, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the event the teams walked for 25 hours. In addition to soliciting donations ahead of time, they organize live entertainment, food, and other contests (I saw a cake walk going on) to help raise money the day of the event. We got the call Saturday afternoon that there were bounce houses set up and most of the kids had gone home for the day. So we drove to Murray, exchanged our donation for purple arm bands, and had the things pretty much to ourselves. Caden's favorite part was the big slide. He went down it until all his helpers were worn out from carrying him up and we moved on to the smaller slide. Since he was free to do what he wished on the small slide the little dare devil started attempting tricks - he went down face first on his belly, backwards on his belly, and rolled down sideways. We played for about an hour and a half and the kid still hadn't had his fill by closing time. It was fun to see Aunt Kellie, and we were all impressed that her 13 person team raised $30,000 for the American Cancer Society.
